Holidays in TASK

Our TASK friends love when they are out of school, but what they love best about it is coming to spend the whole day in TASK!! This Wednesday Williamson county was out of school for Veteran's day so we had a ton of TASK friends stay with us. They made crafts, played and made a special project for our Veterans! Check out some of the fun below!

Recycling our Halloween pumpkins to turn them into turkeys for our upcoming family feast!

Pet Graphs

This week at The Academy of Heritage Commons we have been talking all about Pets. Even our TASK kiddos had some fun with pet graphs. We had one helper going around and asking about the student's pets. We had another helper cutting out the different animal pictures. We also had two helpers each coloring a graph poster and another gluing everything on the page.

Adding up all of the pets
Good work!

Adding up the counts

One of the final products!

Our TASK friends decided to make two separate graphs. One is to display in their classroom and the other was for a friend who wanted to take one home!

The Famous Balloon man

The Spring Hill area has a very famous balloon man. He can be found at almost all of the community events as well as restaurants on kids nights. He has visited our school a couple times before, but never like he did for our TASK kiddos this summer. The balloon man from Parker's original came and taught our TASK friends how to make balloon art as well as made each of them one special balloon of their choosing! His balloon creations are amazing.
Balloon Glasses were one of the steps
to one of their final products.

Class time!

Paying attention to what Mr. Parker was saying.

So happy with their balloons!

She made a beautiful flower!

She made a dog.
The TASK kids had a blast creating their own balloons and were so proud of their final creations. They also loved the special balloons they got to pick out. One parent told us that her son kept his balloon until it had almost no air left in it! Click here for a link to Mr. Parker's facebook page to see where he will be next!

Bowling Fun

Last Thursday our TASK friends had a blast at the bowling alley! They had a big competition going between the lanes on who was winning with the most points. Some of the girls also formed a little cheer squad to cheer their friends on. We bowled for a couple of hours, but they would have stayed even longer if we didn't have to get back for lunch!
Way to bowl friends!!
